A Bit About Brandy

I think I fell in love with reading a long time ago, when a short Hispanic woman used to read me The Poky Little Puppy and The Story of Poppyseed. (She was my mother!) Writing has been a part of who I am ever since I was about twelve years old. I'd read my favorite Babysitter's Club books, and then write my own sequels on purple spiral notebooks. The original fan fiction! My love for reading and writing never left me. I traded in notebooks for a laptop and kept writing--even while I worked toward and graduated with my English degree, and then as I became a book editor and worked for a decade on other people's amazing books. I kept writing even as my husband, Jeff, and I had three adorable children to chase around. Because if you're a writer, you have to write. 

My three beautiful children, Ashtyn and Lincoln and Lillian, are sunlight and chocolate and Christmas music and cheesecake and Jane Austen novels--they are everything that's right about this world. I still read as much as possible (everything from historical fiction to books about time travel to books about gorgeous Scottish highlanders).

Originally from Texas, and then after spending nearly a decade and a half in Colorado, my little family and I now make our home in small-town Virginia. We traded the Rockies for the Blue Ridge, and spend as much time with our family as possible. I'm a sucker for all things dessert-ish, cheesecake especially! I currently work as a freelance book editor, and when I'm not editing or writing or reading books, I love watching movies based on Jane Austen novels.
